About the project
Troostwijk Taxaties & Auctions performs audits & inspections for a range of use cases such as valuations, loss assessments & risk inspections. They were looking for a solution whereby they can perform low-risk audits & inspections using remote tools. The solution was to use a video-enabled service with specific features & functionalities to support remote audits & inspections. The solution needed to be easy to use for Experts, especially when providing instructions to the mobile field participant. Likewise, the field participant needed to quickly join the video session without the need to download any mobile application or plug-in software.

Troostwijk was looking for a branded remote video solution that could be used without the need to download any mobile application or plugin software. The environment they aimed to operate in meant the video stream needed to be robust and able to switch from Wifi networks to mobile networks without much interference. They required specific features & functionalities which would help with remote guidance of the field user in capturing the relevant evidence for their audit & inspection. The field user in most cases would be a partner or the customer and therefore, an easy-to-use tool was required.
Process
We suggested using the Video In Person platform in a trial and test phase that lasted 3 months. Troostwijk tested various use cases and features and found that Video In Person meets all their expectations. Together, we looked to brand the solution and provided extra features to ensure a seamless and impactful remote video audit or inspection.
Solution
A fully functional video solution built with WebRTC, enabling quick and download-free usage. Users receive an SMS and/or E-mail with a link to join their video inspection and audit. Specific features such as annotation on screen, zooming of the camera, recording video & picture evidence, and inviting third-party specialists during video sessions made this solution an impactful tool in performing remote audits & inspections. The solution together with all the E-mail & SMS messages are completely branded to the look & feel of Troostwijk.
Results
The solution was primarily used for the Dutch market with success in remote inspections & audits. In 2021, the tool was first introduced to Troostwijk’s Italian stakeholders with successful remote inspections & audits performed in Italy by Dutch-based inspectors & auditors.
